Beat you to the Punch
That's right GP, I have no life and Im blogging on the weekend and people are gonna read your blog tomorrow and think "man that Joe has no life, cause he blogs on the weekend, but at least he was the first to say it". Naw Im playin, most of what Im sayin will be different from yours geeps. Oh and by the way this is going to be a really long post cause I havent blogged in nearly a week, so lots of useless things to talk about.
Soooo........yea I went to Sungod. It was pretty crazy. Pretty fun also. So I rolled down to SD on Thurs evening and just chilled with my high school buddy Bryan and his roommates who are all really cool. Then the next morning we just chilled, walked around all the booths at the preSungod events and stuff, saw some people drunk at 10am.....something I will never understand. Then we went to someone's apartment where we just chilled for a lil bit then headed off to the festival itself. Me and Bryan acted like the lil kids we are and raced on the big slide thing they had......ok that sounds amazingly homosexual but we hadnt seen each other in a long time, give us a break. Naw then we went and watched the first major act, Damian Marley. He was awesome and rocked out on some of his father's songs as well as his own. Then some wack band played on the side stage. Then Phantom Planet played. They were really good, and they did wayy better than I thought they would. But I wish I could have appreciated them more because the crowd was goin kinda crazy. There were 5 of us guys together and one of their girlfriends, and we were all bracing ourselves on each other to protect her. It was insane, people were constantly pushing and swaying, it was out of control. I was an idiot and only took flip-flops to SD, forgetting my shoes at home, and not only did my feet get stepped on more times than anyone can count, my flip-flops broke so at the end of the concert I found a sandal no one was claiming and wore that. It sucked, but it was better than going barefoot. What was terrible also was this didnt stop when some really really bad band came to play on the side stage. It only got worse as people got more and more crowded towards the stage in anticipation of Ludacris, the final act. Yes THAT Ludacris. Well the weirdest thing happened. When he came out it got more calm than it had been the entire night before him. I think it was cause it was hip hop, cause he was having people wave their hands and clap and stuff like that. Anyway, Im not a huge Luda fan, actually not really one at all, but he rocked that place and I was thoroughly impressed. He really did an awesome job. Well we went back to Bry's pad and chilled for a lil bit then crashed cause we were tired from all that fightine the crowd we had done. Then it was Saturday. And it was good. Well ok it wasnt like that day of rest that God got, but it was pretty good cause it was the day of the UCC rally!!!
I went home on the train and Marites picked me up. Then I went to my apt and got ready, went to Interfaith to help Marites, but had to leave to open up CCA at 2, so didnt stay long. Anyway, UCC Rally was awesome!!!! Seriously, the Holy Spirit was moving through that place!! I am so grateful to all the people who helped so much with making that event a success. I am praying that God reward each and every one of you in His own special way! All of the groups that comitted, showed up en masse and we all had a good time showin our individual styles of worship. Thanks again to all.
After that I rolled to Island's with Liwanag people, and I had some bomb tacos with endless chips and salsa as well as some cheddar fries with ranch dressing.......pretty darn good. After that we rolled to Starbucks and had one of the greatest nights ever. I had been feeling really sad cause I missed out on the Santa Monica trip, and I heard so many cool things about it. But after some people got their coffee fix, we moved out to the parking lot and had the infamous parking lot time with LOG peeps. Man......there are some funny people in Liwanag, and I hadn't laughed that much in so long. Especially the most random things to come out of people's mouths like "Well now we can't have sex anymore!" and "AAahhhhhhh!" hahaha gooood times. We hung out there for a long time, I dont know how long, then we went to interfaith to set up the wireless mic for Fr Pat, but we couldnt cause we didnt have the power supply, so we departed and crashed out.
Then I worked this morning, doing that parking permit thang with the Geepster, Melman, and the J-Meister, making copies! No but seriously I worked until about 12:20 then ran....well walked kinda faster than normal.....up to Interfaith cause people were getting confirmed. Congrats to those people, and welcome to the adult stage of Catholic life.......but that doesn't mean you can't have fun!!! Anyway, helped out the G-manator, and the J-man cause the Melster was not feeling well and was really tired. After that we called up the main man himself, Big Brains, and found out they were at Sam Woo's eating with people from the Confirmation, and so we rolled over there cause we wanted to pick Brenton up and hang with his cool self, even tho we wouldnt make it in time to eat at Sam Woo's. So instead we picked him up, went to Costco and dined on Pizza and samples. Met up with Robert and then headed towards Madrona, grabbed some Rite-Aid ice cream then finally made it to the pad. There we chilled and just talked with Mel and Joyce who were relaxing trying to recover from their sicknesses. Again, more randomness. Mel was doing "sit-ups" the whole time. Joyce tried to talk like a man. Joyce tried to find out why I am so damn logical about everything I talk about, especially the looks of a woman. GP tried to make Brenton use their restroom. and all in all we just acted like a bunch of kids.
Well, I watched Family Guy just a lil while ago.......awesome as usual. Yea you guys should watch it. do it. do it.
Im gonna do my shoutout bidness and peace the eff out.
