"YOU GUYS GOTTA REMIND ME!"
Sup everyone! I know it's been forever since I've blogged and for that I apologize. But I have been kinda busy and I haven't had a long time to just sit and write until now. So here goes.
Well the last few weeks have been action packed, what with retreat and all the midterms/papers and other school stuff comin up. I don't like thinking of all the stuff I SHOULD be doing because it makes me think about all the stuff I HAVENT done yet.And before I forget, retreat was really awesome. No words. That's all.
So I went bowling tonight and I have come to realize I really enjoy it. Especially when the games are only $1 each on wednesday nights. So you know what that means? I got my own shoes so I don't have pay the $4 each time I go. Save some money. Whoever invented bowling was the man. I think Jack Bauer did because it is THAT cool. And as everyone knows, Jack is the essence of cool. Speaking of Jack I have been trying to write a random fact for the onlineTop Thirty but I am not nearly as funny as these people. I wish I could give Jack a gift likea funny fact but alas I will have to settle for the fanship.
So one thing Im really looking forward to is my brother's wedding. Man the place looks pretty sick, it's the Catamaran in SD and I think Im gonna have a room to myself the first 2 nights Im there because my brothers don't come in until friday! Woot! Anyway, yea that will be cool cause I think weddings are fun, but maybe I just like the idea of partying in one like Vince and Owen. Although I won't be crashing, obviously. Whateva.
So I have been thinking about it and yes, I don't know if I'm gonna go home for spring break. I always end up going home and not doing anything and then talking to people who hang out all the time down here and have a butt load of fun and yea, screw them....I mean, maybe we can hang out! But another, more compelling reason is that I can work, get a few more hours in that week, and also maybe see my niece since my break might overlap with my sister's! I will see her for the first time in about 2 months when I got to the wedding so spring break will be another good time to be the good uncle I am and hang out. Being an uncle makes me feel old, as it should I am finishing college, but I also feel nothing bu youth when I think about the fact that I am 21 years old. thats like 4 years away from being able to rent a car on my own, 9 years from entering the 4th decade of your life, and only (statistically) 60 years from when I should die. So I think I'm good for now.
Up and coming events are getting me excited, especially Spirit Rally! Man so good, I can't wait. All the business, the stress, the utter fatigue, the long nights working on skit, and on the nights when its not skit it's music min, then when its not either of those it's commercials, and when it's not commercials it's back to music min. Yes it is a big big bundle of fun and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Well the world's got a lot of ish in it, but it's a figger of speech. And no that's not a n-"brenton's favorite word"-r of speech. Matter of fact, I don't even know if that exists. Unless it was martin luther king, malcolm x or louis faracon (sp?).
I really hate the weather we have been having. It's too hot to wear pants and shoes during the day, but right now I'm in my room and my crackaass is freezing because the temperature dropped once the sun went below the horizon. Tomorrow morning will be the same, but I will resist by wearing nothing but shorts and sandals or maybe shoes, but I won't bring a sweatshirt to work when I close because I will protest this weather until it makes up its damn mind. I know my fight is a losing one, but I mean am I REALLY losing? I mean come on, if I was prepared for everything, I would be a boyscout and last I heard boyscouts let homosexuals get pins and scarves also....maybe I should join. And I take back the scarf thing, I think that's girl scouts....not that I should know that but whatever. I only went for the first few meetings.....and to get the scarf.
Speaking of scarves, I have noticed a lot of them on campus this past winter, it seems to be the next "it" thing. Or WAS the "it" thing, I don't know anymore, fashion moves too fast. Kirs and I were talking about how women probably have it worse than men in terms of needing to stay on top of fashion. They have all these trends coming out every year and yet inevitably it turns to the $80,000 bag J-Lo and Debra Messing are toting around. I cant say much about expensive purses since starting to like really expensive shoes, but last I checked, I didn't NEED a Louis Vuitton mutt-bag for anything but carrying my mutt, which is far less important than protecting my feet. Mutt-bag reminds me of another "bag" word and I think the people who carry these bags are ------bags themselves. But yea fashion's a funny thing. like how certain things will never go out of style. Pants for example. They will always be around. But not capris, those funny looking too-short pants for women. Those used to be called "high-waters" but I guess the Gap and other stores thought that had a negatove ring to it and changed to some stupid French word no one even knows the meaning of (being the nerd I am, I just looked it up and there is no record of a word "capris" in the French language, those designers are sly dogs). And for men, shirts will never go out of style, but emo, too-short, Mick Jagger-esque shirts WILL go out of style. It's inevitable. With the amount of weight the US is gaining every year, I am going to weigh 300lbs by my 30th bday. and even God will come down from Heaven and stop people from making too-small shirts.
I'll tell you what won't go out of style though...toilet paper. That's right, there is one thing that will never be discontinued for some new fangled machine or something, because that is something that is fail-proof. The day toilet-paper doesn't work, is the same day Jack Bauer lets out a gleeful laugh. Jack is not gleeful. He is awesome. and even though awesome can be perceived as gleeful, gleeful is NEVER perceived as awesome so he won't do it.
This has been fun everyone. I don't know why I said all of those unnecessary things, but I think it has something to do with the fact that I havent blogged in a while and I didn't just want to say what has been happening in my life because that tends to be boring. But I'm not done. I'm making you guys stay here. But you know how I know you will stay? Because I'm doing shoutouts....yeeaaa boooiiiieee!
Derrick: I thought of you first just now cause I was thinking about the 2 guys in my class who snapped when they shook/slapped hands. I miss you man. Much love and prayers go to you in Henderson. Hit me up when you're free, I wanna hear your voice again!
Keerz: I thought of you because you mentioned you had spoken to Derrick today or something. Good luck with all of your midterms and ish like that. I hope it all goes well for you and Erwin, even if you don't read this in time. The 1st year anniversary of you hanging out with the guys is coming up, should we do something to commemorate? Mario Party? GNO? I dunno. Oh and props on all of the ideas for skit...it's gonna be siiiiick!!
Brenton: I thought of you because...I think of you. Hope you feel better tomorrow and aren't sick anymore. I am holding you to your word of not buying shoes until your next paycheck...a whole 2 WEEKS! Man, you might as well have a needle and be hittin your veins like Jack because you are ADDICTED! Haha, I guess addictions that make you more sexy are cool though.
GP: I thought of you because I just wrote the words sexy and cool. props to your constant bloggage. I didn't realize it was so hard to do and come up with something different every day until someone told me my daily blogs, when I did them, were boring. Good luck with your studying, I would help you if I knew a damn thing about engines. Or electricity.
Erwin: I thought of you because I actually thought of trying to spell your's and kirs' names with IPA symbols. Sorry a nerdy thought led to you, but it's just the truth. May I reiterate my good luck wishes to you and kirs for tomorrow. Also, I must say it has been a great pleasure serving with you as family leader so far and we're only 1/2 of the way done with the year! Sooo goood! St Gabriel all day baby.
Nimz: I thought of you because I miss seeing you a lot...not saying that to be sad but just to let you know you aren't forgotten. Thanks again for pushing me, but also good luck with the stressful apps you're dealin with!
Meechy: I thought of you because I almost wrote "my loves" at the beginning of my entry. Man o man. Sorry for pushing your broccoli self over, but to be fair the laughter from that far exceeds any remorse I have. Wow that wasn't nice at all. I AM sorry.
Dean: I thought of you because I noticed your "bear" krew was next to each other so I figured you should join their den here on my blog. Man I've gotten to get a lot closer to you recently and I am lucky to have shared so many laughs with you. You are really dumb sometimes. But aren't we all? Keep it up, dumb things can get you places too.
Ang: I thought of you because I just burped some white chocolate mocha I had a while back. Burps and starbucks, that's you! Ok that wasn't nice either sorry. But seriously I love the fact that I know you and I can be one of those 9,458 people on ring road to say "ANGIE!!" and you know my name. So popular. So good. You know why God made different races? So we can make fun of them.
Frances and Bellamay: I thought of you guys because I thought of one of you first then the other and since you're inseperable I didn't want to show some favoritism by having the one I thought of second go later and me say "I thought of you because I thought of her!". But to Frances (because she's older not necessarily the first I thought of, but she could be) you helped me a lot during retreat with prayers and all and I never thanked you. So thank you. I wish I could repay you. I'm praying for whatever you are praying for in your life. Bellamay I was really considering saying I thought of you first then recanting the statement because I'm so good at that now with you, taking things away from you, but I'll be nice and just say thanks for joining so fully in Liwanag and our little group of eccentrics. I just remembered I was the one who called you to come to the first meeting, so you have to thank me also. But not really. God bless you Montesas
Dee and Dave: I thought of you guys because I talked to my mom today and she mentioned my future sister-in-law who lives in SF. I really hope you guys are doing well and that your trip down here this weekend is safe and fun, even though I probably won't get to see you guys I am glad you get the chance to join everyone for the wedding! I'm always thinking of you guys, like seriously. I'm not as close as I wish I could be to either of you, but no worries I am close in Christ and I'm praying for you guys.
I think that sums all of the ones I'm thinking of right now. Sorry if your name didnt make it on, but it is 2:30 so I am bound to forget some people. Peace and love to you all. Come back and see us y'all.
